We are in Japan!

Hey there!
My friend Amanda and I have ventured off onto the adventure of our lifetime. We are beginning our study abroad trip in Japan, Fukuoka and will be staying here for the next 5 months. To keep track of all the memories and fun times we have decided to start a blog together. Well here goes nothing!

We have been in Japan for about 5 days now. The I-House(International Dorm) that we are staying in is the best! We have our own rooms complete with bathroom, A.C/heater, sink and fridge. We went through orientation and got to know the campus a bit. On our first day in Japan a few of the international students who were already here showed us around the neighborhood. We'll let me say this, Japan looks just like the scenes from the various anime shows that I have watched! The streets are lined with telephone poles and wires, they have back narrow roads cutting through random blocks, everyone seems to be riding a bike every where and its polite to stand on the left of a moving escalator if your not walking up or down. Definitely overwhelming for our first day in but fun nonetheless. The I-house is filled with people from around the world! I have never met French, Norwegian, Russian, British and from various states in the USA kind of people lolz but they are extremely nice and eager just as I am to begging learning Japanese!
Today we went to Tenjin which is the shopping district in Fukuoka. It was awesome! I felt like I was back in NYC again. They had buildings full of stores connecting to other buildings full of stores and underground streets full of stores and just an overwhelming amount of STORES!!!! Definitely a shopaholics dream ;). Well I'm off to practice some Japanese before bed. おやすみなさい!
